New generation and the same old but good 3.5L.
Should have another 30 HP or so with the new generation,IMO.
They both poet 0-60 times of 5.5 sec yet the GS350 is down 27 hp and doesn't have an 8-speed auto like the Genesis. The refinement is on the GS's side.

Note, Lexus use 7 years old engine for the current GS model.

Edit: Gen Coupe has 348 hp and 295tq. Let's see how much power loses at the wheels.
Might I add that both the Toyota GR series engines and Hyundai Lambda engines both came out in 2004. And since the current Genesis coupe records 5.4 sec 0-60 the new Genesis Coupe should be much faster.

And the Genesis sedan did win 21 separate awards when it was introduced including the 2009 North American Car of the Year award. The same award given to the 2012 Hyundai Elantra.

He might have been talking about that Hyundai Elantra GT that just debuted at the Chicago show today. It has a lot of standard premium features like the rear backup camera and dual zone climate control. Hyundai doesn't compare to Lexus but Toyota should be on notice.
those awards dont have anything to do with dependability.

Hyundais are nice... and their pricing is becoming "nice" as well. So it will be interesting to see how long their growth will last, with new higher pricing.
