I would have seriously considered the F Sport RX if I was currently in the market for an suv.

So with 8AT the F-Sport manages to improve the fuel economy from 18/20/24 to 19/21/25 over the 6AT model, despite the use of 19" wheels.

The updated 2013 RX once again raises the bar for design, engineering, and luxury innovation in the segment it created. Arriving in dealerships this month, the 2013 RX 350 carries a starting MSRP of $39,310. Offering V8-like performance and fuel economy similar to a four-cylinder sedan, the 2013 RX450h will also arrive at dealerships this month with a starting MSRP of $45,910.

Featuring an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and a sport-tuned suspension with performance dampers, the RX F SPORT was designed to engage driving enthusiasts. When it arrives at dealerships in July, the RX 350 F SPORT will have a base MSRP of $47,000.
The F Sport includes the premium package and comfort package, worth $4,460. So that is an additional 4K for the F sport stuff

So I'm looking at this F-Sport RX and notice the power ratings: 270hp and 248lbft.

The 2009 was rated at 270hp and 251lbft and in 2011 was uprated to 275hp and 257lbft. So did the 2013 RX lose power or get a rating change or something? Maybe its a conspiracy and I'm losing it lol

Maybe it's the rating based on 89 octane? and 91 would raise the power a bit?

Yes it is because of the octane rating. Premium is now not required

Wish the F Sport had wood steering wheel and unique rear bumper. My only two complaints.

I just wish they would have exposed the exhaust in the Sport model, some dual oval exhaust would look pretty good with this, the RX in general.

so basically F-Sport included both Premium and Comfort packages, plus 19" wheels, plus performance dampers and 8AT... actual price difference compared to similar RX is $2k (for 19", unique interior/exterior, 8AT and performance dampers/sport suspension)... $2k is not a lot at all.

That's true. We might see the F Sport in 2-3 years with the complete restyling of the RX, but not a this moment. GS450h F Sport should also be available in 2-3 years if sales are strong.

it won't be, and Lexus knows this. GSh is just a supporting variant to the GS line.

The other thing is a lot of people that buy "sport" products from competitors don't really drive the car sporty at all, they just like the looks and the fact it is different than the stock model. I think Lexus is very smart with F-sport and adding it for people that want something different than the rest of the lineup. Lets be honest 99.9% of F-sport RXs are not going to be ripping and racing around. However for those that want to be different, want more edge and want to stand out from the rest of the RX's you have this option now.

Not sure of allocation in the rest of the country but only 5% in the SE are planned to be F-sport vehicles.
