I use my GoPro and use the suction cup and mount it on my windshield.

Here's another good one that just happened two weeks ago. A scammer in Taiwan, who I guess got so rich from scamming that he drove a Lamborghini, backed into a Nissan March at a stoplight and came out of the car to threaten for compensation. But after he was told by the March owner that the whole thing was recorded by a dash camera and he verified that the camera was really there, his attitude took an immediate U-turn. He apologized to the March owner and offered to pay him good money to keep his mouth shut. The March owner eventually declined the offer out of principle and let the scammer go, though he says he kind of regrets not having turned him in to the police according to his description in the video.

My dad put one in my car. Although I had never seen a Californian motorist sporting one, I didn't object. He picked up a dash cam when he visited Taiwan two years ago for about $150. It adds a peace of mind, when sometimes I go on to home health assignments and travel to areas I've never been to.

Dash cams are very popular in Taiwan. Recently an (in)famous celebrity involving in a taxi driver beat down was captured by dash cam. At first she claimed the taxi driver sexually assaulted her. The whole drama took an 180 turn when other motorists provided the dash cam recording.

Here's a Taiwanese websites showing a myriad of dash cams and videos showing how clear they are, even at night.

ok finally saew the video. This is kind of a joke because there is no way there is any real physical damage when they barely bumped. People in Boston will bump each other harder just pulling out of a parking spot on the street . Give a break. I would have told the guy to call the cops even with no dash cam

Check with your local and state laws first, though. Like it or not, there are some places where it is illegal, except for law-enforcement or security personnel, to use videos for recording police-activity. I've seen cases where people were given formal charges for recording police activity..........in fact, we've had at least one or two threads on that here in CL. I'm not saying that I necessarily support these laws, or agree with them, but, in some jurisdictions, they are a reality. However, for recording non-police activity, in those jurisdicions, the laws are less-clear and not as restrictive.

is that kind of big? i wonder how small these camera can be. i don't mind putting one in my car but i don't want anything to be "obvious"

with gopro, even at lowest setting, how long of a video can you record?! i would think the high definition format can kill space fast

I google imaged "go pro" and while not big, they are passable if spotted on the freeway. A lot more stealthy than mine that's for sure. Mine's like an 8-inch tall soccer game trophy painted in black with a stature and life of its own

I use a 16gb extreme it's plenty and If nothing happens during the day I delete it.
This is from the website...

Recording time will vary according to the resolution setting used and the card capacity. Here are the average recording storage times for a 32GB SD card: 1080p (30 fps): 4h 21m 960p (30 fps): 5h 26m 720p (60 fps): 4h 21 720p (30 fps): 8h 09m WVGA (60 fps): 8h 09m

Whats a good cam that works good at night also? I've seen some gopro ones at night and it sucks. Not looking for anything massive, just decent size to put on for a clean look.
