license plate bulbs (new thread)

Different LED chips have different luminocity and power draw. You can have a single LED such as the latest Cree XM-L that will easily outbright 24 less powerful chips.

But for something like a license plate light, its better to have as many less powerful leds as possible, to spread the light more evenly, instead of having two overbright spots.

A lot of bulbs I used from VLEDs were 1/2 watt per LED and the LEDs were larger than Bagwells boards.I would think his 24 LED board should be brighter than say 2 even 4 LEDs bulb at 1/2 watt each LED.

If your vehicle uses a 194/168 bulb for the license plate lights then go with either the Putco 194 high power LED bulbs or the Philips W5W T10 LED bulbs

While I like bright lights, the license plate is dimmer the better. LOL
