as for the fusion, i'm sure market research showed few were willing to pay the premium in that market segment.

i bet they don't - most people equate turbo with 'problems'.
after opening the hood and checking things out I don't believe that hah

I have one guy at work who tells me weekly that I only have a thousand miles left on my turbo. ...yet it has 95k on it presently....and continues to go...fast! Though this is the same guy that insists his Baja has a 2.2L engine, which Subaru did not put into the Baja. Some people!

If it has 269hp and does 0-60 in basically low to mid 6s I truly hope MPG has a huge leap b/c those are figures from a decade ago with some V-6s. So the MPG better be impressive ala BMWs new turbo 4.

I've been driving around a turbo 4 cylinder CC a lot and there is no denying on the highway that thing sips gas compared to a V-6. Driving around town in the city, I find it more course with no benefit in MPG.

bit, I have no issue with the government mandating better MPG, prices haven't skyrocketed on cars and now ALL companies have their heads out their asses in regards to better fuel economy. We have seen they can move quickly with some pretty amazing results. Now we have multiple vehicles with 40 MPG highway ratings, better hybrids and overall better economy and in many cases, no degradation in performance. In regards to the GS it has nothing to do with the government and everything to do with Lexus being stubborn and V-8s only making 5-10% of sales in class so they sadly skipped it.
