Default CTS Coupe or 370z?

Hey guys,

Looking to pick up a 2 door sports car under 35K,narrowed it down to a 370z or CTS coupe...what do you guys think,it would really be a weekend warrior, wife drives the LS,picked up a new Optima SX for daily and really want a toy that won't break the bank and kill me on the gas.

Others have mentioned the Challenger SRT8,Camaro SS,all V8's will not get a V6 in these cars.

Let me know your thoughts

Thank

I would go with the 370z since you mentioned this will be a weekend car. You should get the 7-speed auto. It is quicker than the manual, and it works well with the engine. A friend of mine works at a Nissan store, and we took a used 370z auto to a back road and did some 0-60mph runs. We consistently got times in the high 4s. The car is incredibly easy to launch.... you plant your foot down at launch, and it shoots forward with no wheel spin.

If your looking for an affordable sports car, 370z all the way. The 350z has been in numerous top 10 affordable sports car list and you can't really go wrong.

In addition, the new 370z looks fantastic to me. The CTS on the other hand...

the Z is too plebeian and less usable than the CTS coupe

The 370Z will be a true sports car. The engine is a little unrefined and the car rides hard. The CTS Coupe is more of a cruiser, although journos think it handles OK too.

Can't speak for maintenance costs, though. I've no experience with either car, but I do know they won't be at the Camry level of upkeep $.

In the end they occupy two different niches so it's really up to what kind of "weekend car" you are interested in. My 2 cents go to the 370Z too.

The 370 would get my vote . Its a very well balanced machine that will run with sports cars much more expensive than it 35k range. Its not going to be as comfortable as the CTS but since its a weekend car I would go with the extra purity and light weight of the 370Z

Get the 370Z, It's definitely sporty and you can get a CPO (7yr/100k warranty), low mileage 2010/2011 model for about 30k. At least that's what i've seen them going for around here, i'm sure its a bit different in Vancouver lol

CTS coupe looks cooler, but I am sure you will have more fun in the Z.

I don't like the car Justin Bieber drove... LOL I keed I keed. I just personally like the way 370z looks more than CTS. The Z is a pure sport car, it rides really well.

I would avoid the Caddy, as my last two (CTS & SRX) spent way too much time in the shop. Suggested weekend fun alternatives, used:

- Infiniti G coupe or vert
- Lexus SC (luxo fun)
- Chevy Corvette (fast fun)
- Mazda Miata (new or used, quick, agile fun).

Happy shopping.

CTS looks OK now, but in a couple of years I think it will look horribly outdated...

plus....the rearward visibility just doesn't exist in the CTS coupe....test drive one and you'll see (or not )

I'd definitely go for the 370Z...6 speed only
