just saw a black one on the freeway offramp. some 40 year old woman driving it. it definitely has some presence, but not like an S-Class IMO. I let it get in front of me so I could see the rear, relatively clean without all the badging save for the one Equus symbol on the middle of the trunk

Don't think they're quite the same cars. Equus never even crossed my mind when I was looking at the 4GS.

I saw the car in person....Not a bad looking car from the outside. However, the interior looked very cheap to me, its no where near the LS. I understand that this is a cheaper version of an LS, but to me it looked very cheap. Personally I would just buy a used LS instead of the new Equus.

If what people mainly mention as Equus highlights are good wheel fitment, the cheap price, and lots of chrome, that's pretty sad for a car in this price range. Also the wear on the leather seats is really sad too for a 60K car.
Yes the Equus does have "presence", but of the wrong kind. The car, especially with all that chrome, looks really garish and tacky. It has "presence" the same way a girl with tons of makeup and a fake tan has "presence". All the chrome and trim pieces on the Equus when seen in person is borderline-insulting to look at, given this is a full-size luxury sedan. The Equus to me is not elegant at all, nor does it look expensive. Both are the opposite of what a true luxury sedan should have, elegance and an expensive look.
