does the fact that there's an annoying steering wheel only on one side bother you too?
Yeah. I am waiting for the Google car. It looks goofy -- worse than Toyota Corolla and Camry -- but at least it won't have a steering wheel so it should look symmetrical inside.
Side note about how awful that material looks in the TT on top of the doors and the dash in the pic that Bit posted.
but anyways, they do look pretty symmetrical in this TT image...
I think the SL interior has a lot of vertical and horizontal lines in the design, and also has symmetrically placed rows of buttons etc. Then all of a sudden, the nav screen and vents are out of center. Contrast this with the TT which doesn't have this problem because of its minimalistic design. There are hardly any hard lines and everything is organic. Same as my 3RX. The swooping dashboard design conveys to the passengers that it was purposely designed that way. On the SL, it was forced because of the limitations in width of the car
The Benz SL, the official car of the empty nest country club lady who married a cardiologist and hasn't worked a day in her life. I hate to stereotype, but this car carries a lot of baggage/bad stereotype about the people who own it, that I wouldn't be caught dead driving one. Which is a shame, because the Benz SL is a really nice and beautiful convertible.

I don't think the TT is an issue at all. Looks like it was designed to be horizontal. The SL just looks strange .
no, and nor does the sl dash.
now the prius center gauges with nothing above the steering wheel though does bother me, i think it's less functional and horribly cheap looking.
