We've already seen the production-ready 2013 SRT Viper. In fact, we named it Best In Show after it officially debuted at the 2012 New York Auto Show earlier this month. But what we haven't seen is the full color palette that will be offered, and our spy photographers recently caught a Viper prototype out testing sporting a fresh coat of yellow paint, as well as some new, more sedate wheels.
As for that color, we aren't sure how we feel about it just yet, granted, we'll want to see it in person and without all of the hastily bolted-together panel gaps of this prototype. Moreover, we'd like to see how the new SRT looks in a proper GTS white/blue paint job. Be sure to let us know what you think of the new yellow paint in the comments.
The don't-call-it-a-Dodge Viper officially launches this year, boasting 640 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque from its monstrous 8.4-liter V10.

I'm not seeing anything attractive or interesting here. The front is blah, with dated, plain Corvette headlights and a boring, unimaginative oval air intake that could be seen on any 90's sedan, the wheels are no more sporty than the 2011 18" IS rims, the cabin is too tall and bulbous to be sleek or sporty, the shoulder line goes in five different directions and forms no theme, and the rear end is far too large for the rest of the body. Looks like a sitting cricket. Crickets are not sporty or sexy. This car could have been way more, but will linger like the last model.

Not on expert on Vipers but seems like they got the Porche 911 thing going on, where they basically keep the exact same body style. Which is a good thing for people who love the orginal, but I personally like when car companies tweak the design or make it more modern. Not a fan of the colour as well... but in that Viper venom green or that blue(or red) with the white racing strips, would be my favorite looks.

not feeling the yellow. What's funny is that I have a couple of patients who have viper road and track cars and when I recently asked if they like the new Viper they said they hated it. Not sure why but they were pretty clear that they didn't like the styling and they will miss the rawness of the original. I say progress is better but they actually own and drive them so I guess they know what they are talking about. Anyone else talk to any viper owners about the new one??

I agree. I think the new car will be more widely accepted, and with the much improved new interior , exhausts that dont burn the legs of exiting passengers, and a transmission tunnel that doesnt transmit massive amounts of heat in to the cabin, as well as the addition of traction control I think they will be able to steal some customers away from Porsche, Corvette, Mercedes, and maybe even steer away some GTR prospective buyers
