The one person you probably already trust.... yourself.

I know it's basically the same car as the Sonata, but I'd like to see where the Kia Optima compares in this group.

I read another mag last month, and Optima finished better than Sonata.

Yep, it's why comparisons are only as good as those who conducted the comparison. There's no ONE comparison that can be referred to to prove which is better unless they all pretty much come up with the same result... which they rarely do.

Probably because some of them did own a Benz or another luxury car before Last time I went to the Hyundai dealer there were some nice Benz, BMW, etc trade-ins on the Hyundai lot. Even the sales guy was telling me a lot of luxury car owners were impressed with Hyundai and trading in or getting a Hyundai as another car - usually the Genesis sedan and the Sonata Limited.

EXACTLY...
price is very important and buyers in this segment looking for the best car for the price.

from the article:
Honda EX 25,875
Camry SE 28,658
Hyundai Sonata 22,355
Chevrolet Malibu 29,230
VW Passet 25,595

keep this in mind, and then look at the Acura's ILX price: 25900 with Acura warranty. that's why i think the ILX will be extremely competitive.

As it should since they did not test the sportier Sonata SE. Overall space goes to the Sonata however at 103.8 cu ft to 102.7 cu ft.

Right C&Ds midsize comparo put the Optima higher and Insideline had a Sonata GLS vs Optima EX comparison in which the Optima also won.

Good point, but isn't the ILX slightly in a smaller class?
