The problem is that the TV schedules for the rest of the year are packed. The European Football Championships kick off in a few weeks, closely followed by the Olympics, again including football, then the Paralympics take place after that. Hammond is in Africa presenting live shows from the bush and then usually goes down to Argentina to present Wipe Out from there. James May has his science programmes for the Beeb which also take up his time.
