I wonder if CD players will actually remain longer in luxury brand such as Lexus, etc because of all of the elderly people that drive them who don't transition to new technologies as fast.

Yeah don't worry, it took lexus awhile to get rid of the cassette player so they'll be staying for awhile

like that's going to happen (not)

I got a lot of old CDs I enjoy listening to, ...
i recently got an ipod nano which is amazing. i put 1500 tracks on it and sound quality is excellent. now if i just had a car i could connect it to... right now i use it bike riding and as a source to a home stereo.

anyway, with the right car setup, you can use an ipod right from the regular stereo or steering wheel controls and it will even show you what's playing on the car display. try that with an audio cd! works with some car stereos with mp3's on cd's (which my car can actually use...)

I have the Lexus OEM iPod integration. I can use the head unit/steering wheel to control the menus/songs, it shows the song on the screen, and it charges the iPod at the same time!

And it all works through a dock connector cable that goes to the glove box. (Way better quality then AUX!)
