I know a few RX300 owners who have felt the current RX series is a bit large for them, and wanted Lexus to get back to having something the size of the original RX300 / Toyota Harrier or a tad smaller.

How about instead of a cheap Toyota based FWD econo/lux SUV they do a properly designed RWD version based on the next Lexus IS. Nearly every SUV in the compact class is based on the companies compact cars. Audi A4.Q5, BMW 3-series/X3, MB C-class/GLK, Volvo S60/XC60. Don't go cheap on us Lexus.

I don't disagree with that idea, but Rav4 might make more sense in terms of price. Theoretically, they could built it off the next gen IS/4GS chassis and use the same engines and hybrid setup, which would be nice, but that could be expensive for a vehicle that needs to start at ~$33k.
A4 and S60 are FWD and that doesn't seem to be an issue for the Q5 or XC60. I obviously like RWD, but I think it is less of a concern in a CUV/SUV for most people. I'd want the AWD hybrid, regardless of whether it's built off a RWD IS or FWD Rav4 platform

I'd love to see a hybrid version of this come out. I love our GLK350, but 18mpg is not cutting it.
