What if Lexus made a sub RX LUV based off of RAV4?

I know Lexus is just trying to keep up with the massive array of mix matched offerings and sizes of cars from the other premium makes, but damn.......To me the RX is small enough as it is! How small do you want your car/suv to be?! Sheesh, wouldn't having such a small SUV be a nuisance instead of utilitarian ? I've been in compact cars before ie miatas and mr2s, but those cars are purpose built for track use or as Sunday cars to zip around in. A smaller SUV wouldn't even be a Sport Utility Vehicle anymore, SNRAL Sport No Room At All Vehicle. LoL
And to be fair SUV is a term thrown around like Kleenex when people mean tissue. Most utes these days are unibody CUVs and not the body on frame SUVs that erupted in the 80s and 90s

That Buick is way smaller and it is based on small car platform, such as Yaris.
NX will be considered as mid to large SUV in Europe :-)

A render from the most reliable one, the Japan's Best Car Magazine.
Scanned from Thai version of the magazine.
It is reported to be revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show this year, 2013.

well I hope it looks like that :-)
they basically shrunk the RX.... We all know its coming, for instance in Europe, new Rav4 didnt get too many luxuries probably to make spaces for Lexus.

I disagree on the interior. In Buick trim, IMO, it is quite luxurious, and has both the Quiet Tuning and Active Noise Cancellation. But, not having driven one (yet), I will agree on the engine....at least on paper. 1.4 liters, even with a turbo, is not very impressive for a Buick-badged product, although the same vehicle, in decontented form, is sold in Europe as the Chevy Trax and Vauxhall Mokka.

Enjoying my 2012 RX-350,but would rather have a crossover from Lexus sized like the new Subie Forester, and with better fuel economy . I'm usually in my RX by myself, maybe twice a month with my Wife and Teens.
We use my Son's 4cyl Camry for the long road trips(Over 30 MPG's is a nice benefit) .
A little more ground clearance than our current AWD's would be nice as well in the possible future new crossover.

I think it would be a great me too kind of vehicle for Lexus as long as they burry any relation to the RAV4.

No matter what you call it, though, Buick's sound-insulation does work, especially on the Verano....I know, I own one. At the risk of using, yes, still another gimmick-name (an old one from Hyundai)......"Driving is Believing".

Why not an RAV-4 Platform? What else would Lexus use? It is no secret, for example, that the RX comes from the Highlander/Camry platform, the GX from the 4Runner/Prado platform, and the RX from the Land Cruiser.
