Absolutely not okay. Scuffing up someone else's property is rude and disrespectful. If someone can't respect another, he/she isn't much of a friend.

It is dangerous to place your feet up near the airbag. If the airbag deploys, there is great risk of spinal cord compression which could lead to paralysis or incontinence (i.e. cannot control the release of your bodily wastes) if the nerves within the spinal cord are damaged. That is obviously much worse than facial bruising if the airbag hits the face.

I used to do it as a teenager on long trips in the family minivan. If I was riding up front, I would recline my seat back, throw my feet on the dash, and pass out. I like to stretch out, and I feel real sore after riding a couple hours in a car without stretching......
Also, the van didn't have passenger side airbags :P

Hey guys just the other day me and a friend where driving and she puts her feet on my dash board (passenger side). I am like wtf?....I told her please don't do that and put your feet down.
She got offended and said she has done it before with other friends and they did not mind.
I just told her that its safer not to put your feet against the airbag unit and what if I brake suddenly? I also told her I can get a ticket for that (can you? will the police stop you?)
Anyway I noticed I few people doing this more in the U.S...I just think its not a safe Idea.
I was not distracted by her legs I was more concerned about her safety.
(i Just noticed I posted in the wrong forum, mods please correct error..thanks)

It's generally rude to lift your legs and place your feet on other people's furniture, especially if it's not a close family member. I saw this once at my manager's desk at work, and it was shocking and irritating that a subordinate would do that.
Besides, it's even unsafe. My wife likes to do it but I remind her of the dangers from time to time. Sometimes I forget to remind her when..........never mind, been said already.
