Some of the show cars turn into museum cars, but because of the limited space there, they can only save so many of them.

This thread reminded me about the yellow R33 from the first Fast and Furious movie scheduled to be crushed today.

What a waste... I totally could have used those tail lights and some of those interior parts from the F. I don't understand why they don't just make the marketing models w/ vins so they can be resold after they serve their marketing purpose. I mean come on I'm sure someone would buy them!

Someone once told me never fall in love with a car. It's just a car. I like many different cars, but at the end of the day its just a hunk of metal and plastic. They were nice cars but really who cares if it's crushed or not. Next year they will be more spectacular built cars for display. Life goes on and people build more cars.

Now for the attachment part. For me if I spend time and money (money is time) on an object and this object gets destroy or taken away I would feel sad. Sad because I put so much time and or money into something and now it is all gone. History builds memories (or is it the other way around)

The total cost for a bazillionaire company like Toyota is like one of us buying a Subway sandwich. A sandwich that we eat in front of other people so they'll get hungry and go buy one at the Subway store...plus we get to write off the $5 cost!
So, not too bad I guess.
But proportionally the cost to the average consumer for one of those aero bodykits, or the motor or even a windshield or something is still big bucks, however for Toyota it's just tax-deductible pennies.
But still ... =^(
