Then in the other thread where the Genesis is dead last you come up with every reason why the article is wrong and why people agreeing with the conclusion are wrong.

No one is saying the Gen Coupe is a bad car.

Sounds like you are mad. You only post up the thread where the Genesis wins. Then you come up with every reason why this article is right and people not agreeing with the conclusion are wrong.

Maybe the Genesis deserved that spot maybe it didn't but Throughout the whole article they complained about the GTI being dead last and the Genesis being a much better car to drive than the Mustang. Yea...

Do explain since this is the ONLY thread I have posted about any Genesis winning...

A pretty badly contrived comparo to squeak out a win for Hyundai. Now what would be interesting would be to tabulate the ad pages for Mustang vs. Genesis Coupe over the next six months. Generally these tests and awards follow the number and size of ad placements by the manufacturer more closely than any other metric. Ever notice the MT Car of the Year is often something nobody in his right mind would buy, but gets lots of ad acreage in the magazine despite miserable sales numbers? I wonder why that is?
A few previous winners of COTY: AMC/Renault Alliance ('83), Lincoln Town Car ('90), Ford Probe GT ('93), Chrysler Cirrus ('95), Lincoln LS (00), Ford Thunderbird ('02), Chevrolet Volt ('11) . . . .

I noticed on the Inside Line homepage that the Focus beat the Elantra in a recent comparo. If Ford buys more ad placements for that win, it might offset Hyundai buying more ads for the Genesis win??

and you are reading review with glasses
The Genesis, in contrast, demands your constant attention. Its neediness is a product of an unnatural throttle calibration, which requires thoughtful clutch/throttle work, millimeter-precise pedal movements and perfect timing. And that's not what we want every time we go to the store. In fact, this car lacks the performance to merit such attention, especially considering the number of quicker machines that don't come with those compromises.
Only 2 feet separate the coupes' 60-0 stopping distances (112 feet Mustang, 114 feet Genesis), but after five consecutive stops, the Genesis showed significant pedal fade, which never materialized after six stops in the Mustang.
In any case it is moot point, it is review of 2 cars that MT rated worst in their 6 car comparo and even Inside Line reads like that. They are never estatic about driving these cars, it is question of which one has less compromises.

Again, the Mustang in fact had the $1,999 performance package. For all intents and purposes, the performance package on the mustang is identical to the track pack on the Hyundai. Why do people keep bringing that up?
The Hyundai had the track pack
The Mustang had the performance package.
Plain and simple.
The article specifically states the Mustang has the performance package.
Enough of the "Oh, but the Hyundai had the track pack, it's not fair."
Get over it, it was a fair comparison.
