Cars.com calls out Consumer Reports over Toyota Prius C verdict
#16
I've reviewed all of the Prius models so far (except for the upcoming plug-in version), and I have to say that, IMO, the Prius-C model is definitely the best one so far in terms of interior ergonomics, controls, styling, ride/handling balance, and overall livability. The 2Gen Prius, though, was arguability the best one in terms of build quality.....the materials in the newer ones, IMO, have been noticeably thinned and cheapened. And the Prius-V model, of course, with its wagon-body, is the roomiest inside.

What CR liked about the C was fuel economy, turning circle, smooth transmission and good rear seat room for 2.
They showed their road test scores of 4 Subcompact Hatchbacks along with the points each got:
Honda Fit (68), Honda Insight (54), Prius C (53) and Yaris (41)

I'll respect your opinion, but disagree. To me, the interior and sheet-metal of the 2Gen model felt much more solid and substantial than the 3Gen model.....the lower curb-weight of the 3Gen model also indicates that to an extent. And, of course, to make sure we aren't comparing apples and oranges, I'm referring to the 3Gen regular Prius models, not the Prius-C, V, or plug-ins.
