I don't have that issue anymore. But when I did, 2x6's FTW.

how exactly did you design it?

2x6x8? or 2x6x10?

with a smaller 2x6 (cut in ~1/3) on the bottom attached with a nail gun?

is this enough weight to support a 2gs?

2x10 boards cut to various lengths to provide a stair-step ramp - longest boards on the bottom, etc. You're always driving on a solid base and the small steps are nothing the drive up/down with a car. I used this method then loading a used Vette on a trailer when the steel ramps were too steep.

I wouldnt nail them together, ant cut the ends at a 45 degree angle so that you can add/remove height as needed and drive up a "ramp" and not a block. Not good for your tires to drive over things like that, so if you angle cut them and make them different lengths for stacking, you will get better results. Also, it will more than support your cars weight, remember that only half of your cars weight will be on it at any given time.

So I'm basically making a ramp?

You both are saying small block on top to longest board on bottom , the 350z above has it the other way

And how would I hold all the pieces of wood together in that case?

keep in mind this is not for me to jack my car up, but to get into the driveway ( with rain gutters, like in the video above)

when jacking up my car i just use the scissor jack before the regular jack

Yes, it should look like a set of stairs, but with 45 angles on the ends of the boards for you to drive up with lo-pro tires. I wouldnt want to nail them together unless you are only ever going to use them in one spot (say, your driveway). Some places you may want to use them may be higher or lower than others.

The vid you posted is one way of doing it, but again, you only will get one height, the one you build it to. If you have multiple boards that arent nailed together you can add height 2" at a time until you clear your obstacle.

Haven't tried it out. Just Preparing for the worse and hoping for the best :O

I don't think I'd make it though cause of my tte lip and don't want to have to worry about it everyday (which is why I wanna make a ramp) the street up n down is very smaller with cars parked on the other side and constant traffic)

Is finding a different place to move to - with a garage - a viable option?
