Put that in your pipe Prius PHEV! Since the time we talk about Toyota, Honda has topped the pole.
Especially that to achieve this, Honda has had to revise its hybrid technology to allow the electric take any place, relegating the displacement second. So far, the hybrid Honda added muscle power to the thermal power, without the possibility of overseas spend displacement.
Under the hood, so a lithium ion 6-kilowatt-hour electric motor connected to a relatively powerful 120 kW. The all-new Honda Hybrid can travel 20 to 25 kilometers in all-electric mode at a speed of 105 km / h, before using the gasoline engine.
Interestingly, Honda promises a maximum load of four hours to refuel electron, or half past one through a charger at 240 volts (the Quebec government finance up to $ 1000, notice to interested parties).
Thermal side, a four-cylinder 2-liter Atkinson-cycle ensures prolong the lifetime of the animal, which goes through a CVT electric drive to do his job.
The new Accord Plug-in is currently on the assembly line. Expect to see the first copies in Canada within 12 to 18 months, with a retail price that is expected to exceed 40,000 dollars. Its competitors? The Ford Fusion Energi, among others, and the Chevrolet Volt ... obviously.

Its crazy that all plug-ins must get beaten with an ugly stick before they go on sale.
The Accord looks pretty sharp in regular trim. I like it.

I actually really like the sedan exterior. First time in years that Honda has actually done a good job exterior-wise on a vehicle. Interior looks the same as any other Honda, extremely generic and forgettable. The exterior is definitely a nice improvement over the current bloated model.
Also the rear tails are a clear evolution from previous Accord generations, so this Hyundai comparison is ridiculous. Going back to the previous generation Sonata, Hyundai has blatantly copied Accord rear tails for years now. The fact is the Accord doesn't look like a Hyundai or Genesis; the Genesis simply looks like an Accord from the rear. Among other things, the Genesis looks like a knock-off E-Class from the rear.
As for that plug-in, it looks absolutely terrible! The regular sedan looks so good in comparison. The plug-in looks as ugly and tacky as the Sonata hybrid.
