Default New ride jitters beginning to take root.

My LS430 will be paid off year after next and will be giving it to moms for it's retirement. I originally plan to buy a used 2010 LS460 but now I'm considering a 2013 GS350 non Fsport. I know these are two different beast in terms of driving but from a technology standpoint, which one would you guys decide on if you had the choice. Are they about the same as far as gadgetry or is the new GS superior since its a new generation? Any thoughts?

gs certainly newer tech but a 2010 ls460 is certainly more luxurious and has more overall features. if i had to choose between those two, 2010 ls460 for me no question, just for the super smooth v8 and what, 8 speed? tranny alone.

You still have a year to pay off the LS430, right? Maybe then the GS will have a V8 option.

Would do a new GS. More modern and fresh, has all the latest, warranty- you can't go wrong. Wait a few more months or December and the deals will be pretty hot.

But is the newer tech significantly better or that much different? Save for the remote touch and 12inch screen, what does the new GS has that the LS dont? Im sure my decision will come down to:

V8(power, smoothness) vs. V6 (better mpg, moderate power)
Size difference
Big Boy status
Luxo barge ride vs. sporty ride
Elegant, but dated styling vs. up-to-date design

I would for the LS if you have kids and need more room and the GS if the space is not as important. I sat in the 4GS today for the first time and I was blown away at how roomy and modern the interior. I didnt like the wood trim that doesnt have the shiny clear coat. Looked a bit to Toyota for me. The GS will also feel like a sports sedan whereas the LS is a pure luxury car. There is nothing sporty about the car other than the V8.

+1 for LS460. It's already taken the initial depreciation hit, and is a flagship model.

New LS should be out soon... so if you want a 2010 LS it will be a lot cheaper once the next gen is released!

I would go for the LS460, get a CPO 2010 model with low miles and you are set for 3yrs/till 100k miles!

Flagship model + lower price + warranty = WIN.
