Default So if a mid level coupe comes...what name would you like? GSc or SC

Let's just say hypothetically there is a new mid size/priced coupe coming and it might be based on GS mechanicals and is a 4 seater. Would you like to see it called the GSc or should the SC name be used?

Let's keep the LF-LC out the picture for now. This would be a coupe between the ISc and any possible future LF-LC.

Does it also matter how the vehicle looks? If its upright in the veins of a A5/S5 should it be a GSc. If its more swoopy, like a 6 series should it be called the SC?

Do you give a flying **** what it is called as long as Lexus brings a coupe?

For those that like to argue about sales figures (raises hand) clearly a GSc would be bunched with the GS, like how E class coupe is bunched with E class. A SC would be a stand alone nameplate but with the new 6 series gaining a 4 door not sure what it would go against head to head in sales figures.

Anywhoo.....POLLTIME

You mean a 2+2 seater, don't you? As I see it, very few coupes nowadays, outside of some larger BMWs and Mercedes, can be classified as true 4-seaters.

Would you like to see it called the GSc or should the SC name be used?
I probably wouldn't be buying one, but I'll toss in my $.02. I think the SC label would be a better choice, as in the past. Anything with GS in it, IMO, would probably be confused with all of the past GS models, which had 4-doors and were sedans.

Damn straight it does. IMO, like the A5/S5 you mention, the 1Gen SC was a gorgeous car. The 2Gen SC was too small and awkward-looking, having too much Audi TT in it.

Do you give a flying **** what it is called as long as Lexus brings a coupe?
Yep.....I just answered that.

If it's based on GS, then it's a GSc. put 5000 premium on top of GS and offer more option as standard, v8 version another 8k. A coupe that tops out at 75k. Leave the 100k+ coupe to the SC.

I just honestly think that Lexus needs a sleek coupe, F and true hybrid/eco variant. I know I know...its the LF LC...I just can't wait any longer...!

I wouldn't buy a GSc though just like I wouldn't buy a 6 series or a Ecoupe. I'm sure whatever GS coupe Lexus makes would be a great car though...I always have faith in this company.

If it's based on the GS then GS C. Please leave the SC nomenclature for the high end luxury sport coupe pitted against 100K grand tourers

If they built a coupe based on the GS, kept the Dynamic Rear Steering, VGRS, adjustable shocks and made it a 2+2, gave it a supercharged V6 or V8, that would be my second car (my 2GS will serve as daily driver).

And yes, it doesn't matter what they call it, as long as I know what chassis it is based on.

The previous SC was based on the 2GS chassis so it would be more consistent to continue calling any GS-derived coupe an "SC".

This is my thought as well. I'd like to see both a GSc and SC, with the GSc being a $50k+ two door version of the GS with similar looks and engines. I'd really like the LF-LC to come to market and be called the new SC - something more exotic, expensive and dramatic than just a two door GS.

I do not care what the name is, as long as it has an F at the end of it.

Like others, I could be swayed to either GS-C or SC depending on design.

I also would put out there that GC could be a good name for it. GX suv, GS sedan and GC coupe makes a lot of sense to me. and GC500 has a lovely ring to it

If it's for a "mid-level", then I agree with GSc.
And SC for the higher level.

Please don't make it have useless back seats ala SC430

I voted for SC.
Use GS chassis to make 2+2.

GSc should be 2+2 with usable backseats, I think a SC should be higher level and preferably a 2-seater with storage space at the back ...
