Default recommendations -- sporty sedan or 4DR hatch for <$20K???

requirements-- not much, lower mileage if possible (preferably under 40K) but it should be sporty and/or luxurious, hatch would be nice but not mandatory, MPG not a concern-I take public transportation to work, manual or slushbox-----but 4 door is REQUIRED....on my list are:

Mazdaspeed3 (hard pressed to find under $20K, but this is my first choice)
TSX
GTI (a very close 2nd place but I have long term reliability concerns)
WRX (definite possibility)
Civic Si (a little low end)

anything else I'm overlooking?

Thanks!

The problem with buying a used sporty car like a WRX or Mazdaspeed3 is possible past abuse. I would feel more confident buying a used luxury car than a sporty one.

Maybe the Pontiac G8 ? A3 and TL type S are also good choices.

2007 Audi A4 Wagon, s-line. I love mine and while it's not as quick as Speed3, it's not terribly slow.

TL-S good choice, although can you really find a G8 for $20k?

I also recommend the 330i, A4, maybe even an older 5series?

E90 3-series have dropped like rocks since the F30 was released. You can get a NEW 2011 328i/335i in the low 30s ($10k or more off sticker), so a used one a couple years older should be right in your range. In my area, $19k will get you a 2007 328i with 50k miles.

Being that you are in Denver, I would suggest an '07-08 Subaru Legacy GT.

If those are the sedan choices I would go with the hatchback....I find the appeal of them greater and greater especially if the sedan is bland, ugly.

Saw a VW GTi swallow some cargo when I needed it done for a car event..loved it lol
