The 1sicklexus meet pics and write-up (Spring 2012)
Hey everyone,
Thought I'd finally share some pics and info on the largest meet we ever had in GA in April. We had over 140 cars in attendance and right around 100+ Lexus. We had people drive all the way from Miami from the NE area. This meet was hosted by the great folks at Hennessy Lexus of Gwinnett at their dealership led by Hugh Robb the GM and my bud Frank Mullin the internet sales mgr. They were super happy to host their 3rd Lexus meet and helped provide shirts and a grab bags. It was supposed to rain so they provided everyone with Lexus umbrellas. Luckily we got no rain!:They even did a last minute job helping Zeb with an alignment that was knocked out of whack on the way down to Atlanta (thanks Joe Gaunt, Service Director)
We had great vendor support locally and nationally from RedPaste's Tilted Kilt (who catered the event) to Vossen Wheels. (who raffled off a gift certificate off a set of wheels) There was even a provider for free flu and health shots. Javed from the the Lexus Pursuit helped push the event and Dan from Zen Motors brought out his newly finished drift IS. The local Infiniti G crew came to hang out as well.
It was a great day in Atlanta, got to meet the ISO "Insane Stance and Offset Crew" again and they came around 30 cars deep. Mingled with tons of old faces and new ones. Its great to see the enthusiasm from the younger crowd as they get their first Lexus and modify it.
Finally we got Lexus support and the SE region brought out one of the few pre-production GS 450h's out as well as a new GS F-sport. They also provided goodies to raffle off. Roy, owner of the #003 LFA made it out and was again a pleasure to talk to and was very liberal sharing his car.
Thanks to a lot of the members here like Tee, CJITTY, TriniGS, Veritek and there are others who helped out. They helped with parking and organization and keeping things clean. We park all like cars together which helps with people that want to ask questions about like cars.
We've come a long way in GA as the first meet in Atlanta was between bitkahuna and CSR, 2 people! Over a decade later and we still are going strong.
Enjoy!
Mike
