And isn't 6 yrs "prison terms" equal 3 years actual time stays in jail? Somewhere I read they count day and night in prison time.
Not sure how it works state to state, but here while they are in jail during or waiting for trial it counts as 2 days. So if you are planning on taking a deal, it makes sense to post pone your trial to a later date. Sit in jail for some time and then plea guilty. Hence alot of sentencing includes time served. So if I was sentenced to 10 years and sat in jail for 5(X2) waiting trial, etc then I would be released on time served. Also here in canada, ontario to be specific if your cell or range is overcrowded or gets put on lock down and it was NOT something you did directly they actually count your days served as 3, so thats times 3.
Our wonderful legal system for you.
Sell the cars direct to the public like other countries.
I agree to some extent. But don't forget that dealerships, across the country, employ a lot of people....managers, ad-marketers, sales-personnel, buisness-office people, mechanics/technicians, washers/detailers, body-shop personnel, janitors, maintenance-people, office-clerks, secretaries/receptionists, phone-operators, and many others. To put all these people out of buisness would add a heck of a lot to the already-inflated unemployment rolls here.....assuming, of course, that they couldn't find jobs somewhere else.
