I wouldnt touch one of those cars other than the CTSV but the seats are so narrow I couldn't drive it if I wanted. The Americans are getting better but still not good enough for me to go to the dark side, especially after the crap I have seen from these companies over the last 20 years.

Several of the vehicles on this list, though (including the three Cadillacs) have had lower-than-average reliablity, according to Consumer Reports. Others, including the Chrysler 300 and 300 SRT8, are definitely promising and well-done, but are too new to have established a reliability record......buying one would essentially be rolling the dice.

BTW, the list of "10 Best American Cars" differs according to the organization that publishes it....especially when value for the money is taken into account. Some of those lists include the Chevy Sonic, Buick Verano, and Ford Mustang GT. All three, IMO, belong on the list, though the Sonic and Verano are too new to have any reliability data, and I am not impressed with the shift-linkage of the Mustang GT's 6-speed manual transmission....it drives much better, IMO, with the automatic. The Camaro SS doesn't have that problem wth the manual. I'd also recommend the SS for the list, except for the relatively poorly-done interior and the Peek-a-Boo visibility out the narrow-slit side and rear windows. .

The article says it took from 9 different review and ratings sites:
Total Car Score, an automotive research and comparison Web site, built the list by compiling car ratings from nine automotive review and ratings sites, including MSN Autos, U.S. News & World Report and Consumer Guide.
Not sure if that makes a difference, but I have been looking at the CTS, I would like to the the V, but for the price tag, its not in the budget right now.
Only the Ford Flex, I wouldn't want just because of the styling; not my cup of tea. The rest for the right price I wouldn't mind.
