Toyota Motor Sales Announces Amendment to 2009 Recall
2010 Lexus RX added to potential floor mat interference campaign
TORRANCE, Calif. (June 29, 2012) -- Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., today announced that it has amended its recall from late 2009, adding two models to address the potential for unsecured or incompatible floor mat entrapment of the accelerator pedal. The models added are:
• 2010 RX 350 (approximately 131,800 vehicles) and
• 2010 RX 450h (approximately 22,200 vehicles)
Owners of the involved vehicles will receive a safety recall notification by first class mail in early August 2012. Lexus dealers will remedy the involved vehicles at no cost to the customers.

looking at headlines in LA Times and WSJ, you would think they are recalling gas pedals, not floor mats.
NTHSA just issued a statement that they are looking at possibly fining Toyota for late recall.
Anyone wanna bet this why this happened after Toyota reported 60% worldwide sales increase in first 5 months of 2012? History keeps repeating itself... Ford and GM need more push as their market share is rapidly shrinking...

i think it's time to stop merging all the recalls into one thread. it makes searching and reading very difficult. we did it at the time due to the numerous threads and discussions. this time it's somewhat related, but it's also been a while, so let's start new threads for each recall
