I'm sure that's not the case, they are content with it. Mercedes-Benz is simply following their

7-year model lifecycle. For the past 14 years they've always followed this template.

Example: new E-Class for 1996, facelifted for 2000, new for '03, facelifted for '07, new for

2010, facelifted for '14. Unlike Lexus, they freeze the design of their facelifted models

2 years before production 'starts. That's why we are seeing them testing already, as the

facelifted E-Class design was finished in mid-2011 and debuts next year. Mine is probably the

only MB vehicle that doesn't follow that template, since the Gelandewagen(G-Class) is a

legendary vehicle and has used the same W163 chassis since 1990.

Too bad they are essentially the same car. Both the E-Coupe and C-coupe are based on the C-class chassis.
