Bought A Mercedes W126
#16
Well I had the 420sel for a week and i sold it for $2500. I bled the brakes, welded a short piece of exhaust on it and took a old headunit my friend had. I bought the car for $800 put about $350 bucks into it and paid for an inspection, tank of gas and $1 dollar to fill all the tires with air. When it came down to it i made a little more than a grand off the car. I wanted to keep it and had no intention of selling it, but a Miata came up for sale that i want. I sold it to a guy who is related to my dads secretary in a quick sale in order to get some money together. Hopefully he enjoys it. I only got to drive it day not including the 3 days i spent cleaning it fixing it and getting it inspected.

Congrats!
Those 126s are excellent cars. My father had a 300SD Turbodiesel back in the day and it was a great car. Reliable, comfortable, spacious - the perfect car for touring the United States. And it was pretty economical to. If it had not been stolen in the early '90s he might still be driving it today (my father has a knack for keeping cars until they break).
