Thanks for the pic Mike, it's nice to see. Still love my 2000 E46, going to love my 2013/2014 (buying next summer, not sure when) F30!

E36 is one of my favorite body styles. That said, I think each 3 Series has it's own charm. Frankly the F30 is growing on me

I love these pics. Its like an evolutionary pic of man. The cars have gotten taller every generation even more than width. If you looks closely its like a incline if you visualize a line over the roofs of the cars

Ah the E39 5 series. IMO the E39 made BMW's reputation for best steering feel and best-ride handling balance in a mass produced car, ie "Ultimate Driving Machine".

Too bad the driving involvement went downhill after that. E60 is still decent but the F10.....less said the better

Agree that this pic is much better, clearing showing the relative sizes of different generations.

I think the e36 and e46 were the perfect size for the 3 series, then they got to big.

I feel the same way about the e39 5 series, then after that they got to big and complex.

I hate how on the new 3 series ... the headlights connect to the grille. Im glad the new M3 spy shots show that it doesn't connect on the M version

I remember when my dad bought a 3-series back in the 90s. Such a sweet car. I still like the 90s model 3-series.
