I don't understand. Wouldn't advertising in between some popular shows be a lot more effective than advertising non-stop in a dedicated channel? I don't know about others, but I for one would never tune in to a channel just to watch commercials.

It must not be too expensive and might catch some viewers surfing through the channels.

In the past Directv would have a pop-up on the lower corners of the screen during a live commercial prompting the viewer to turn to that channel for more info. Or they would have an advertisement running on the channel guide. That's how I always found out about it previously. I'm sure this will be no different.

A chain of chicken rotisserie restaurants around here bought a full channel where they had a loop of the video for chickens being roasted. Every once in a while, a code to input into their FB page would pop up and that gave access to discount coupons and promotions. Except for the smell, the channel had all the making of watching the real deal at a restaurant.
