compared to what?

my '06 explorer limited v8 2wd was about $35 if i recall correctly. of course that's with tax, tags...

i do think the fuel economy on this sport model is lame. my 6 year old 300hp v8 explorer gets about 18/21. it is also not slow.

Considering this Sport is close to 4600lbs in 4WD guise with 365hp 350lbft 16/22 vs the RX350 AWD 4343lbs 270hp 248lbft 18/24, a 2mpg drop across the board aint that bad

wow, didn't know the rx awd was that heavy or mpg that low. still a great vehicle though.

off topic, but the only real annoyance i've had with my explorer is it didn't come with aux/ipod input but hopefully the adapter i just ordered will finally fix that (it will hopefully let the steering wheel and stereo controls work the ipod too other than that, it's quiet, reliable, roomy, and extremely comfortable on long drives.

it is a great vehicle, I'd blame the fuel economy on an aging powertrain. We have 1 RX in my immediate family and several Explorers. Were a Ford and Lexus family

Closest Silver Birch Explorer is my 03'
