thinking of trading in 04 LS for 09 335i Sedan
I work for a car dealership so I get a very good deal on vehicles. I'm 25 and currently own a 2004 LS430 SILVER and we have recently gotten in a 09 335i sedan in like a Electric Blue color automatic.
The LS has 103k miles on it and very good condition, love the ride, the size & elegance of it cool seats, navigation and such. but the BMW has 75k miles on it with black interior. cannot tell if it is leather or that leatherette stuff. automatic transmission, 18' wheels, looks very low so maybe the performance package they offer, no navigation i drive.
I Cannot stand silver cars so thats the only thing i do not like about my Lexus
I love the cooled seats, navigation, pretty much everything about the car except for the silver exterior and the 17" stnadard wheels.
The BMW I love the electric blue color but will miss stuff that the LS has like the nav and cool seats and especially the size, a lil nervous about reliability. any know issues with the 3 series with the twin turbo and such ?
what do you guys think?
We do have a 07 IS 350 on the lot but it is a light blue with the tan interior and i just dont like that so I just wouldnt feel great in it.

Well yes when one thinks of it from owning a LS430 Flagship and then going to the entry level model or whatever brand, it is a downgrade in terms of refinement and overall admities. Its just that I always likes the 3 series when they are properly equipped (key word) but until a nice 7 series, LS460 comes in, I wont say this will have to do, but there has always been a lil sweet spot in my heart for this model series Bimmer.
decisions, decision.
I do know if I were to make the purchase, I would surely miss the size of the LS though the most and the ride quality. Its just so smooth riding for a 9 year old car.

it's a downgrade if one thinks of LS vs 3, but when you throw in 04 vs 09 then things can go the other way. the 3 has a more advanced navigation for example. between the 2 cars, you have to decide what you want, sports vs room / comfort. i think that's the key.
but one thing i worry is the HPFP on the 335, especially with 75k miles. you just know if and when it will fail, and if it does it's always pita.

If you like driving, the 335i is much better driver's car, but this car you are looking at has too many miles to consider trading for the most reliable car ever made. Did you do the timing belt and water pump on the LS yet? If not, that's going to be a major expense pretty soon.
Anyway, the LS is suprior to the 335i in everyway except driving dynamic, so it's up to you which weight more in your opinion.
