Toyota Camry Surges Past Ford F-150 to US Top Spot

This would be more relevant if the F-150 and the Camry were competing vehicles. I doubt that 7,000 vehicle gap represents people who ditched the F-150 to buy a Camry, but more the result of more buyers coming from other competitors in the same segment.
That doesn't make these stats useless, but it more accurately represents either a shift in demand from competing sedans to the Camry OR a shift from pickup ownership to sedan ownership as the realities of the economic situation sink in.
EDIT:
For relevance, the F-150 had 202,000 sales where the Tundra had 82,908(Although this figure is from 2011, the entire year)
The Camry did however outsell the Fusion, which only had 140,000 sales(hopefully that increases with the new redesign).

What surprises me is that Honda Civic is at #3. complete POS and it is still selling like no tomorrow.
I doubt that the new camry will end up at #1 at the end of the year. The sales will probably split between Camry and new accord, and F150 will end up with #1 over all at the end of the year.

I still have a 2003 Explorer and had a 2004 Mustang I traded in for my IS
Exploder closest in the pic is mine. The rest of the X's and F-150's are in my immediate and extended family
** Missing in the pic are two Ford Escapes

I think so too, it always ends up that way. Camry's sales was high just due to the new model for a while, it won't last. F150 is always king.

If Lincoln still had a RWD small sports sedan I'd prolly be in that to keep it in the Ford family. I came to Lexus by accident or rather AN accident. The General managers son of the Lexus dealership I now work at rear ended my car in high school, so while he offered to fix my mustang he gave me a brand new 2007 RX350 off the lot for a bit. My mom loved it so much she ended up buying an 08. I took her car in for service one day and while I was waiting I walked the lot and saw the IS. Loved it so much that I got a black on black one. Two years later I was working for them hah. Kinda funny how it all works out. Anyway that's why I like Ford's and Lexus. Considering putting the IS back to stock for a nice daily when the 2015 Stang comes to fruition and getting a GT version. We'll see.
Anyway back on topic. I commend Toyota, topping the F-150 is no easy task

Freudian slip there, Hoovey?
JK dude...
OT: Just borrowed an old F350 for hauling stuff for a couple weeks. Great work truck. Took any load I put on it without sweat. Quite impressed especially since it has over 200K km on it and you can tell the previous owners didn't exactly baby it.

Anyone have the sale numbers of the last Gen's first year sales? Within the first year, I still don't see nearly as many of this latest version compared to the last version. In my opinion, the last gen appealed to the same broad audience, but actually looked a bit lithe and athletic with it's slim and angled headlights, taillights, and lower roofline. The new model is tall, square, and has odd lighting details.
