Toyota is touting towing while everyone is showing the complete opposite, Toyota should spend the money elsewhere.

Toyota is trying to convince people because that is a huge thing in the half ton world... Toyota hasn't made a full size truck with that kind of towing capacity for that long, in comparison to the big 3... Maybe where you are people get it, but where I currently live, I hear a lot of naysayers saying they'd never own a Toyota because they aren't tough enough... Towing is one of those definite misconceptions...

Ford's Ecoboost is a joke... if you want a fast truck, sure, and will it tow, sure, but the real world MPG from the people I've talked to isn't even that much better, especially when hauling a load...

The 1/2 ton truck market is a warzone, very competitive... Any publicity showing how much power a vehicle has is good publicity... A quick search and read on the internet and you will find things saying Toyota trucks aren't fast, and don't have the hauling capability, where I know for sure they do...

How is it misleading? They intend on doing this with a bone stock truck and no modifications... if someone wanted to pull a huge amount of weight, by all means, they could too...

A quick article about it... http://www.freep.com/article/2012100...-space-shuttle

and another: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lano...la-bridge.html

Lucky for me, it'll be passing on the same street where I work (Manchester Ave. Inglewood, CA) while being towed to it's final resting spot. The city already emailed my boss and it's happening this coming Friday. I'll be sure to post pics of this awesome event.

Mitsuguy, it's pretty useless trying to use logic and basic common sense when dealing with CTJill.

wow, what an amazing shot, to think that piece of metal has been where none of us here have been before.

fascinating, however I hope you all know that the trailer on which the shuttle is sitting on also has power of its own.
