Acura NSX News

That pic you posted of the Avengers Car is build off a 91 NSX. The motor shown is the original C30 DOHC VTEC motor that came in the 91-96 NSX's and 91-05 automatic NSX's. It's not a J series V6 found in todays Honda and Acura's. In 1997 Honda upgraded the engine and it became the 3.2L C32 DOHC VTEC engine. It does share a few parts from a Civic and many other Honda cars though. I know for one the cam seal plugs are the same as it is for most Honda and Acura's.

Uniquely tuned yes, but the hardwares and layout is totally shared with the RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD. Same 3.5L V6, just with strengthen block, more aggressive cams, add twin turbos. Same basic 7-speeds dual clutch tranny, maybe with stronger gears and much more aggressively tuned. Maybe more powerful electric motors.
Not that is matters but NSX will have 9 speed dct.

Tha unicorn has left the factory
I troll on NSXPrime and one of the posters mentioned seeing this bad boy at the Mid Ohio race track this week.
Too bad they pulled it out using electric only mode but it looks cool in black

Why are Honda keeping so quiet about the NSX? Porsche had journalists driving rough development models of the 918 two years before launch, warts and all, whereas Honda just keep releasing PR teases. Toyota should also do a hybrid supercar as the successor to the LFA.

Acura is an effed up organization period
I believe the excess quiet is related to positioning.
It is likely they specked the new NSX against the GTR, R8, F458 and MP4-12C.
Time passes during development and than McLaren comes along with the 650 and Ferrari with the 488. I believe Audi has also upgraded their car some and Nissan has done something for the GTR every year.
Where this gets us is that the new NSX will compete with some of these performance wise but my have issues wrt the 488 and 650 now (theoretical).
As we know, HP ratings and 0-60 times sell a lot of high priced toys and the Acura folks have to have some fear of failure (noting the number of times this project started and stopped (HSC sheetcanned because it was going to be a low power car), changed focus (V10 GT), had to be reworked (transverse to longitudinal drivetrain for this car), lacked corporate support (had to be built in OHIO).
