Most likely very few will agree with me but I wonder what this could have been if it was just the 500hp turbo six. Loose the batteries, electric motors and all the extra redundant crap. A 3200lb 500hp NSX, with good steering and brakes, for $120k, that is good on the track and comfortable on the street, yes please. Probably also a much better spiritual successor to the original.

c&d article pines for an integra and is annoyed at many of the details of the nsx, that it's not loud enough, that the electronics don't let someone slide it around, etc.
sounds like a reviewer living firmly in the past.

so GT-R gets a pass for all the electronics but the NSX gets bashed.....gee strange.

The bee etching is worse at NsxPrime as usual
My take is this
The guy who can afford a super car is better off in the eyes of Acura with one that delivers phenominal performance and can keep you from killing yourself and is super reliable
And that is the car we shall receive
Since the long departed HSC the philosophy has been accessible performance and they have stayed on script

I also have not driven the new NSX so only can go off of the reviews. It may be a fantastic car, but at $180k it is also one I will never own. Now if it was simplified and down int he $120k range, I might be able to pick up a used one later down the road.

that's exactly the fear i have on the new nsx. the original was raw, the new one looks nice and few things look promising. but i wouldn't want it like the gtr, which i have little feelings about

Acura said a while ago that the NSX was made to deliver 458 Italia performance at a more affordable price. I know numbers aren't everything, but the 458 made 570hp out of an N/A engine with a curb weight of ~3,250lbs. This was 6 years ago... It would have been nice to beat the competition, not just match them.

I'd have to drive them back to back to compare accurately, but having spent a day with the Nismo recently, I doubt it's changed much on the "engaging drive" front.
