I'm thinking about getting a Maserati Quattroporte in a year or two, so I subscribe to their monthly newsletter. In the issue I received today is an article featuring an owner. Here is the first paragraph -
We have always maintained that, unlike some high-end car brands, Maserati makes very practical daily drivers. Connecticut attorney Kerry Gleason seems to have been on a mission to prove the point; his 2005 Quattroporte has now covered an astonishing 150,000 miles. If you want proof that he doesn’t consider this to be a fluke, look no further – he has recently taken delivery of a brand new 2012 Quattroporte S. We suspect that Kerry and his friend, local real estate agent Sam Mandahar, have put more miles on Maseratis than any other owner in North America.
Maserati is astonished the car went 150,000 miles?! My Q45a did that without breaking a sweat (188,000 miles). My LS460 is only a third of the way there, but I know it will be a piece of cake. And to think just 2 guys putting on 150,000 miles have done more than any other owners in the country, good grief.![Egads!](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/pat.gif)
This wouldn't deter me from getting one, but it just stuck me funny.

LOL my boss has a 2008 quatro that he bought brand new. Has 60k miles on it and **** ton of work done on the tranny/engine under warranty, and most recently has been having even more problems with rattles, exhaust leaks, bubbling dash and visor, and so on. It's just ridiculous to me how this Italian beast is fragile. Also, not to mention the depreciation should be called depression

I know at least 6 people with maseratis ranging from 05 to new and all of them have problems. The 05 has about 60k miles. They are all daily drivers when it isn't winter, but all have problems. Thing is they all love their cars and i do to. The cars also have a really ****ty....fragile interiors. Like i said though, i still love them. I would get one over a s550 or ls460 almost every time. I would just keep the es300 i have now as a backup haha. Its 11 years old and has 201k miles and has had less issues then the 05 maserati with 60k miles.

Yea, they definitely are a problem car. I always buy my cars, but I think if I did get the Quattroporte I would lease it so I could walk away in a couple years.
And then sometimes I think at my age, why do I want to screw with it. I am very happy with my LS.

Different market yall. That Maser is likely a 3rd, 4th car. Masers are not driven much, most owners know they are costly to maintain and might even have a Prius or Corolla as a DD. So 150k is kind of rare on a Maser.
Toyota/Lexus owners, that is a cakewalk![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

One of our friends asked how many miles our Sequoia has. We told him "220k". He said "WHAT? You mean 22K?"
if you have a Toyota, 220k is not unusual. 150K is next to nothing for a Japanese vehicle, but is something with a Maserati. I would have been funnier if it was Deawoo. "Holy *^%$*! 50k and still counting!"
European crap. meh.

My corworker bought a used Quattroporte a couple of years ago. Judging by the amount of time his car has been in the shop, I'm pretty shocked that one made it to 150k miles.

This is why I like Japanese cars. You dont have to think about mileage. You usually dump them with a ton of miles not because they are broken but because you want something new since you had the last for so long
