Default GoldenBuy: Aston Martin Seeks Potential Buyers, Toyota Reportedly Interested

http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2012/11...potential.html

With Lotus doing down the crapper and with it, those rumors of Lexus-powered future Lotus Supercars, this could make for an advantageous marriage for Aston and also potentially broaden Lexus's high-performance range in the future with high-end development shared between two luxury nameplates? maybe? possibly?

do it do it do it do it.....

edit: Also this could give more justification to TMG's development costs as then they wouldn't be just working on 600+hp Lexus's that may or may not be given the green light but also potentially for a future Aston so all that work and expense wouldn't be for naught.

Ford probably has enough headaches in Europe right now to consider another European acquisition at this point, imo.

If an Aston Martin had Toyota reliability, I would not even think twice about purchasing one.

This is almost a no brainer purchase.

You know what? The last couple years at the Nurburgring races, Lexus (Toyota) has shared garages with Aston Martin. I remember that Akio Toyoda drove an Aston Martin in one of the races while the head of Aston Martin drove the LFA I think it was. The connection is already there. If this comes to be I wouldn't be surprised.

I've noticed this especially with that iQ/Cygnet thing.

Otherwise, why on earth would Aston Martin ask from Toyota to share a subcompact car for them use?

If VW/Audi can buy Porsche, Lamborghini and Bentley and BMW, Rolls Royce, I don't see why Toyota can't buy Aston Martin.

'nuff said. V8 Vantage S. In my garage. The moment Lexus takes over and shoots one out the factory doors.

That would be utterly amazing. Aston seems to be a company willing to change with the times and has done well through 2 recent ownership changes.
