Check the Owners' Manual, though, and the specs before towing something or carying a heavy load. It doesn't make sense to me, with all that power and torque (and the heavy-duty suspension/brakes) but Chrysler did not allow towing with past SRT Grand Cherokees (I'm not sure about the new version).
I had to add the tow hitch as an option on this one, they moved the exhaust from the middle to accomodate the towing request. The former was not very good. The new model has a nice hitch cover to hide the gear when you are not using it...I believe you can tow up to 5000lbs. Not too bad and far more than we will ever need this for.
Great ride!! I had the 2011 Overland for a year and completely loved the way it felt and drove. SRT8 is all that and more!
What else did you look at and consider?
We looked at the 4 runners, and Lexus RX 350. She liked the SRT8 the best. The RX was too "soft" for her and she felt the 4 runner had a cheap feel to it (I didnt agree with that). We are coming from a Z71 Tahoe... Great SUV but was starting to show too much wear and felt a bit aged.
Very nice ride, before my father got his FX50S I tried to convince him to get a JGCSRT8 but his old age and his previous ownership of domestic vehicles scared him away, but that was the previous model, still from what I have read and seen the SRT8 lineup of vehicles are cresting 150k with minimal issues, so they are pretty reliable, any break downs are modded pretty heavily
