BMW today announced the release of a second major wave of BMW M Performance Parts designed and tested for the new BWW 3 Series and current 5 Series Sedan models. On sale now through all Authorized BMW Centers, BMW M Performance Parts are accessories which have been carefully developed in collaboration with BMW M GmbH to ensure an authentic transfer of racing-derived M technology into everyday driving. In addition to the first wave of new 3 Series and 5 Series M Performance Parts which became available in Spring 2012, the latest offering includes exclusive chassis, aerodynamic, and cockpit components to further intensify The Ultimate Driving Machine®.
Aero: Form follows function.
The BMW 3 Series and 5 Series Sedans both benefit from this release of parts with new Aerodynamic and Exterior component choices. For the 3 Series, the BMW M Performance Front Splitter, Rocker Panel Blades, Rear Spoiler (in choice of black or carbon fiber finish), Rear Diffuser, Side Stripes, and Rocker Panel Decals become available. Additionally, an M Sport Line Retrofit kit is now available for vehicles not originally equipped with M Sport Line.
For the 5 Series Sedan, a new BMW M Performance Rear Diffuser is offered for 528i, 535i, and 550i models, and will be joined by a new Carbon Fiber Front Splitter which becomes available early in 2013. An M Sport Package Retrofit kit will also become available for
5 Series Sedan models in 2013.

For the BMW 3 Series, BMW M Performance now offers a Stainless Steel Driver's Footrest and a set of Stainless Steel Pedal Covers for manual and automatic transmission cars. Additionally, a set of BMW M Performance Floor Mats is now available, as are the BMW M Performance Carbon Fiber Parking Brake Handle with Alcantara boot.
The crowning touch, certainly, for the 3 Series interior is to install the BMW M Performance Electronic Steering Wheel which is now available for cars equipped with the Automatic, Sport Automatic, or 6-speed manual transmission. The latest-generation Electronic Steering Wheel, featuring a flat-bottom rim and covered in Alcantara, is a unique offering in the industry and allows drivers to take advantage of three separate information modes:
EfficientDynamics Mode shows the driver real-time fuel efficiency data, average speed and efficiency data, water and oil temperatures, recommended shift points, and an EfficientDynamics Index ("EDI") calculation.
Sport Mode features a built-in stopwatch function, G-force meter for longitudinal and lateral forces, water and oil temperatures, and multicolored LED shift lights.

Chassis and Exhaust: Focused performance for the 3 Series.
A new BMW M Performance Suspension Kit is now available for the new 3 Series Sedan bringing an extra measure of responsiveness and handling to the quintessential sport sedan – a car that has been named to Car and Driver's "10Best Cars" list for 22 consecutive years. New coil springs, finished in M Performance Red paint lower the ride height by 10mm, compared to the factory M Sport suspension, and by 20mm compared to the standard suspension.
This focused look can be further enhanced with the addition of 20-inch M Performance Double-Spoke wheels. These weight-optimized, forged alloy M wheels feature an exclusive bi-color design sporting a high-gloss turned finish on the face and Orbit Gray paint between the spokes. The wheels come with Pirelli P zero run-flat tires mounted and balanced. The tires are sized 225/35 R20 90Y up front and 255/30 R20 92Y in the rear.
The final dynamic touch is the availability of the M Performance Brake System. The high-performance Brembo system features compound, cross-drilled, dimpled discs mated top 4-piston aluminum calipers up front and 2-piston calipers in the rear. The calipers are available in a choice of M Performance Red, Yellow or Orange finish and sport the M logo. The discs are cross-drilled, grooved and internally vented to optimize thermal resistance and feature aluminum hats to reduce unsprung weight. The front discs measure 370mm x 30mm (14.6 in. x 1.2 in.), the rears 345mm x 24mm (13.6 in. x 0.9 in.).
The available M Performance Exhaust helps both the new 328i and 335i to sound, look and breath better. With his new company car fitted with BMW M Performance accessories, DTM factory driver Martin Tomczyk drives the racing line in everyday life as well – extensive range of retrofit products available for the models BMW M5, BMW M6 Coupe, BMW M6 Convertible and BMW M6 Gran Coupe.

In-depth expertise, a keen awareness of detail and meticulous fine-tuning work make all the difference on the racetrack – and now enable BMW factory driver Martin Tomczyk to experience that special racing feel on the road as well. At the German Touring Car Masters (DTM), Tomczyk drives the BMW M Performance Accessories M3 DTM, but is now out and about off the racetrack in a BMW M6 Gran Coupe. Also, as far as his new company car is concerned, the 2011 DTM champion from Rosenheim has left nothing to chance and with the precision of a professional racing driver has adapted the high-performance sports car developed by the BMW M GmbH to suit his own personal style and to deliver outstanding performance. He found the ideal possibilities to do this in the range of BMW M Performance accessories for the models BMW M5, BMW M6 Coupe, BMW M6 Convertible and BMW M6 Gran Coupe now available in combinations designed exclusively for each specific model.
In a workshop located on the premises of the BMW Munich plant, Tomczyk actively helped to transform the exclusive high-performance automobile into an individually configured, one-of-a-kind car. The components he chose also include the BMW M Performance exhaust silencer system. This sports exhaust system, which was developed by the BMW M GmbH in collaboration with the company Akrapovič and is made completely from titanium, is offered both for the BMW M5 and for all variants of the BMW M6, enhancing even further the characteristic sound of the 412 kW/560 hp high-revving V8 power unit. The company Akrapovič, also official partner of BMW Motorsport, is one of the leading manufacturers of titanium exhaust systems. Thanks to the use of this material, the BMW M Performance exhaust silencer system is exceptionally heat-proof, corrosion-resistant and light. The reduction in weight compared to the series produced exhaust system amounts to more than 10 kilograms.
With the perforated inner pipes of the titanium tailpipe trims, the sports exhaust system also sets a visual accent on both sides of the rear apron. Speaking of rear views: Those who get to see the double tailpipe of Tomczyk's M6 Gran Coupe can also catch a glimpse of the BMW M Performance carbon rear spoiler and the BMW M Performance carbon rear diffuser. The unmistakable look of the BMW M6 Gran Coupe, which is finished in the colour Frozen Black metallic, is completed by BMW M Performance front and rear strips. "Really cool," says the 2011 DTM champion when commenting on the result of the individualisation. "The BMW M6 really does have tremendous power," Tomczyk adds, "and with BMW M Performance accessories, its outstanding sportiness is expressed even more intensively."
The superior qualities of the retrofit components from the range of BMW M Performance accessories are a result of BMW M's many years of experience in motorsports that flows into the development and harmonisation of all products. They fulfil the demands of ambitious BMW drivers who not only enjoy a motor racing feel on the road, but also the dynamic potential of their vehicle when driving on the racetrack. A striking example of this is the BMW M Performance Alcantara leather steering wheel and the race display also fitted in Martin Tomczyk's BMW M6 Gran Coupe. On the display integrated into the top centre of the steering wheel rim, the DTM pilot is now provided, inter alia, with gear shift information as well as lateral and longitudinal acceleration values. Moreover, lap times in minutes, seconds and hundredths of a second can be displayed and saved.
Furthermore, the range of BMW Performance cockpit accessories includes a carbon trim for the gear selector switch of the double clutch transmission, carbon interior trims, stainless steel pedals as well as BMW M Performance floor mats. The reduction in unsprung masses in conjunction with further enhanced deceleration values, which also remain constant under the highest loads, make an additional contribution towards the outstandingly precise and agile handling of this high-performance sports car. The exceptionally accurate control of the braking effect is also clearly noticeable and the specific appearance of the brake callipers boasting a gold-coloured finish and an M logo is immediately recognisable.
