hummm nice, but I still think the base price of Z06/7 should be lower, I mean $20K over a base C7 should be acceptable, right???? just dreaming/wishing I guess

so the base C7 beats it in everything but 0-60 and 1/4 and even then is only .1 behind....should have test a base 911 not the S; the base 911 is only $30K more than the C7

Why would they compare the 911S to the base Vette??? They should be comparing it to the Cayman or Boxster, and even then they can get more expensive than the Stingray

I am very very impressed with the new Vette and the GM engineers that put it together. I would consider a Vette if they could make so a dud my size can git in. What impressed me about the GTR more than the performance was that a man my size can fit in . I sat in an old Z06 and I could barely fit

I have one on order and I've not even seen one in person much less sat in one. But from all the reports, the driver has 'slightly' more room than in the C6. Even tho everything the factory is building right now is sold orders, the dealer network is pretty good if you go to one of the larger Corvette dealers. If you put down a deposit and don't fit, you won't lose it. Mine should come in the next allocation to my dealer this Thursday or next. Then just have to wait till the factory builds it, probably mid or late October. I'm so pumped, it's hard to sleep at night dreaming of

Chevy Corvette Z07 spotted for the first time

Spy photographers have just snapped images of what may be the next evolution of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette – a high-performance Z07 version to follow up on the Z06 model from the last generation. While the car you see in the photographs above is completely covered in body cladding and camouflage, we can spot a few clues that have us believing a track-tuned Z07 model is up and coming.

First and foremost, a very close inspection of the area just in front of the rear wheel well reveals what appears to be an air vent in the bodywork. Corvette fans will recognize that a similar, mesh-lined duct was used for brake cooling on previous Z06 models, and would make a new Z07 instantly recognizable to those in the know.

Our spy shooter also speculates that the convertible top on this car might not be entirely that which it seems. Noting that when the original Z06 debuted it did so with a smaller, weight-saving hardtop that resembled the size and shape of a convertible top, our master of the long lens postulates that some trickery could be at the heart of this seemingly soft-topped tester. The convertible top seems very convincing to our eyes, however, so it's possible that the simplest answer is the true one here as well.

The wheels Chevy's development team are running on this potential Z07 are also items that we haven't seen before on a C7 'Vette. That's not proof of much, to be sure. Still, these few small changes to the car, in concert with the logical nature of a higher-performance Corvette being next on the product roadmap, fuel our Z07 dreams.

Nothing about these images shed light on powertrain details, but we do know that Car and Driver has speculated on the Z07 getting turbo power. Considering the potential for increased fuel economy and Cadillac's head-first plunge into turbocharging for high-performance, we wouldn't be shocked to see a turbo'd V8 engine, churning out 600 or more horsepower, when the Z07 finally takes its turn in the spotlight.

i bet corvette wins on handling with skinnier tires because the mrc keeps the actual tire patch more flat to the road (for much better grip).

but the viper's much more impressive to me than i expected!

Wrapped up, strapped in, and ready for the first of many journeys, the debut batch of 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe is headed to dealers from General Motors' Bowing Green, Ky. Plant.

"It’s an amazing sight to see the transporters filled with Stingrays heading to customers in all corners of the country,” Dave Tatman, plant manager said in a statement. “The pride at Bowling Green is overwhelming and it shows in the tremendous quality and attention to detail going into each one of these new Corvettes.”

The 2014 Corvette is the seventh generation of the iconic sports car, earning its spot with a 455-horsepower engine that ranks as the most powerful standard 'Vette in history.

The first models are expected to be delivered to dealers at some point in the next few weeks.

They have the C7 Corvette on Grand Theft Auto V and it looked amazing. I want a real one so bad now.

Unfortunately I don't have the cash for one. Maybe in a few years I'll pick one up.
