Default Anyone test driven an RS5?

If so, what did you think compared to the F (performance, interior, etc)?

Performance will probably be good because of AWD. Interior is probably good looking, but not very functional, which is typical of german cars. I believe one member on here had an RS5, and after a few months of ownership, he got rid of it.

It's a damn expensive car for what it is. I'd get a new Porsche Cayman S if i wanted a sexy two door.

Buying a Porsche is like starting with a frame and picking out everything else, one option at a time. The flexibility is great, but it's really hard to compare prices. If you build a decent Cayman S, it's at least as expensive as any RS5 that you would want.

They are nice looking cars, but most reviews I've read have the reviewers wanting more. RS5's are heavy too. Surprised they still used the NA 4.2 over the new FI 4.0 with an extra 70hp

Hmm.....good point.

But on the other hand, I think the NA 4.2 FSI has a more sinister engine sound compared to the FI 4.0 even with the latter having more power. I'm guessing there are buyers in this segment who want the unadulterated sound of an NA engine.

Probably because for some people, the sound of the turbochargers kinda whines out the growl of the V8 motor.

Anyways, different strokes for different folks =)

Oh trust me I like NA. I'd take the 6.2L V8 from the AMG's vs the new TT 5.5L V8's based on sound alone.

I'm sure they'll drop the 4.2 soon. So might as well enjoy it

I have driven the RS5 fairly extensively. Great power and love the AWD launching. That said, I still didn't feel like I was driving anything special. The interior is pretty straight forward Audi. I couldn't tell too much of a different from a standard S5. It looks pretty similar too, need to be more of a car buff to spot the difference between S5 and RS5. That said, it could be seen as more of a sleeper I guess. I'm also still in the camp that might prefer an M3 over the RS5.
