hey guys, my wife and i have been looking at cars to replace the prius lately and i promised myself i would approach the search with an open mind. we traded in our 07 IS 250 two years ago on the prius because my wife was driving about 30k a year for work. she no longer drives that much and has been wanting something a bit more stylish and fun to drive.the 2012 Buick Regal has impressed me. i didnt want to like it but i did. the 2.0 turbocharged engine feels great and the 6 speed manual is a great feature. the car looks good to me and the only part i dont like is the badge and name on the saying buick. we have looked at a few other cars and this one is my favorite. i think if i could line all of the cars up and somehow remove the badging i wount believe it was a buick. anyone have experience with this car? looking for feedback from some people with real world experience with the car.

I drove a GS for a few weeks last summer when I was working at GM. I think overall it was a good car for GM. Power and handling seem to be good, but the car is a bit heavy, and FWD had some torque steer. Really wish they would've brought over the twin turbo V6, AWD, 6 speed manual version they were toying with at Opel.
I never got used to the center console control layouts, and the buttons felt a bit cheap. Funky control **** if you get navigation.
Backseat bottom cushion felt low to the ground (not a lot of leg support) and across it is very very flat, like a slab.
Overall a good value for the dollar though, it has HID's etc. and can be had in the low 30's.
If you want a manual transmission in a sedan there aren't too many options out there.

I don't know if this is important or not, but Consumer Reports doesn't recommend the Regal due to Below Average Reliability. Just an FYI.
If it's under warranty it might not be a big factor.

I'd be weary of reliability and resale. Both are poor. I think there are better choices out there.
