First Ride: 2014 Jaguar F-Type

I agree and what Jaguar needs to do is figure out how to tell customers "hey we are above the brands you all know about". Their advertising is a mess to me in print and on t.v and they are non-existent with social media. They have a great lineup of cars only, no SUVs. They should be bragging "hey we don't make SUVs" and try to position as a driver's brand or something. Turn that perceived weakness into a strength.
Oh what do I know......oh wait....

A great line-up only getting better. I've always considered Land Rover basically Jaguar's SUVs and Jaguar, Land Rover's sedans/coupes/verts lol

I hate the headlights! They are so generic looking.
I would have preferred to have seen some round headlights to pay homage to the old E-Types. I'm a sucker for classic design infused with modern lines.

This is indeed a knockout.
I also heard that they might make an F-Type RS in the future. Wicked
Personally though, if I were to buy one of these things, I would have to get the Coupe version (I heard Jaguar is working on one). I say that because personally, I'm not a fan of soft top convertibles.
I may consider though if they make a RETRACTABLE HARD TOP version

LFA has nothing to do with this, the LFA wasn't made to make money or save a brand. This is. I'm sorry but I find the pricing here very adventurous and I think it would have been a better idea to start off cheaper and as a value than giving people WTF moments in a place where Porsche dominates.
Look I am a Jaguar fan but I was hoping for a 45k-70k, not 70k-100k+ with options. Base 70k? Seriously?

this gets into too similar bracket of XK-R
They need to go down to 55K~60K level and shed some weight

I attended the Jaguar Drive Event last weekend and the F-Type is one awesome car.
The event itself was excellent - very well organized, informative staff, food, drinks etc.
Very similar to the excellent events Lexus typically has.
They had the F-Type S V6 and V8 for us to drive back to back. Both cars are incredible!
The active exhausts sounds awesome, obviously the V8 was just MEAN.
The car is very well built - interior is the right quality for the pricing.
Lots of room inside, good seating position, seats are awesome and can be adjusted numerous ways.
Lots of Carbon Fiber trim pieces / styling on exterior, wheels, and interior.
Love the hidden exterior door handles - very cool touch.
I'm not a person that loves convertibles esp living in NY, so I'm looking forward for the Hardtop F-Type to be introduced.
The new 911 is hard to beat but I hope the F-Type sells well.
Besides the F-Type they had a separate track for driving the XKR and XFR, which was fun as well.
XK though needs to be updated ASAP esp the interior.
