Cadillac confirms 420-hp twin-turbo V6 for 2014 CTS
The 2014 CTS will break cover next week at the New York Auto Show, but Cadillac has released a few details of what we can expect to find under the car's hood. As we saw in some spy shots back in January, the biggest news for the midsize Caddy will be a twin-turbocharged V6 producing a whopping 420 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque.
This LF3 engine will be paired to a new eight-speed automatic transmission, which will help balance performance and fuel economy. We still don't know how much the 2014 CTS has grown in terms of size and weight, but General Motors says that new sedan will return 17 miles per gallon in the city and 25 mpg highway with the new engine to go with a 0-60 mile per hour time of 4.6 seconds – that means the new CTS will have the fuel economy close to the current base model sedan and acceleration not too far from the current CTS-V. General Motors also confirmed that this twin-turbo V6 will be available in the 2014 XTS this fall.
The next-generation CTS will carry over the 3.6-liter V6 from the current car (likely as a base engine) and also add the 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder from the ATS.

Sounds like a great powerplant! I suppose this will be the engine that Caddy positions against the 550i and E550?
Sidenote: I'd like to see Lexus continue to offer the GS 350 with an updated N/A V6 and do something similar to Caddy, with a 400+hp TT V6. Makes a lot of sense if we can't have a V8.

Def going to be an interesting mix with the M3/M4 having a TT or TTT I6, ATS-V TT V6, and C63 with a 4.0L T V8 (rumor mill suggests). Lexus needs to take note quickly. Also the RS4 needs to come back and this baby Jaguar could shake things up as well

When I first saw this, I thought it was the new CTS-V powerplant.
But it's not.
>400 HP/Torques for the everyman's CTS made me sit up and take notice.
What will the V get? Twin turbo V8?

Anyone doubting FI tech anymore? Can't wait until Lexus releases their engines...

From the Press Release not copy/pasted here in this thread:
Put it in the Camaro.
The new Cadillac Twin-Turbo will expand the performance envelope of the upcoming 2014 CTS midsize luxury sedan, launching this fall in the United States. The engine will also will be offered in the 2014 XTS large luxury sedan this fall.

This deserves much more attention than it has received on competitor forums like CL, e90post, mbworld, etc.
That is a game changing powerplant that blows the competition out of the water in terms of stock performance and modifiability (stock turbos).

An array of engine options for the Cadillac lineup. I can't begin to think of the tuning options available. The forced induction is the new wave, and the competition is getting intense. The V will be a strong competitor, for sure.
