Default Came across this beauty...

and couldn't resist.

Came across this beauty...-ynqhub5.jpg

I'm kind of underwhelmed by the new IS - espcially the lack of powertrain innovation, and I certainly didn't want to buy a new car that had the exact same engine as the one I already had.

Ever since we bought my wife's JX last month, I've been stopping by Sewell Infiniti in Spring, TX, for free car washes (I bought my IS350 from a Sewell dealership in Dallas so they let me wash mine there too), and the Sewell Audi is right next door. I walked across while waiting for my car and found this CPO 2012 S4, off a 1 year lease with 16.5k miles.

So far I absolutely love it. I'm considering getting new wheels, but debating b/c the 18s ride pretty nice, and I drive about 90 miles a day for my commute, so I'm not sure if I want to gain the harsher ride just for looks.

I have some plans to black out a few trim pieces, I'll post some more pictures when I do!

They are more expensive, but the level of service is second to none, plus the concierge pickup and drop off for service as well as the free washes and valet in market street is worth the extra price to me. (I go every week and eat like 5 cookies while I'm there, so I'm not sure if they are really making money off this setup =)

I work in the Galleria, unfortunately no bus there. It'd also add a ton of time to my commute to take the bus, and 60-90 minutes is already a long time.

i share the same feeling as the OP for the powertrains on the new IS or GS for that matter. i know the theory of don't fix if not broke, but basically the same engine for going on 8 years? compare the advanced motors Audi, BMW and MB dished out during those same time, Lexus/Toyota is pale in comparison.

Turbocharging has been around for a long time, there is nothing advanced about it.

That's a beautiful pickup. All the new audis are very eye-catching. Hopefully your 90 miles commute on the audi will give you the same reliability as the lexus did.

Im in the exact same boat as you, I have completely crossed off the 3IS as a possible choice for my next car.

That's like saying "fuel injection has been around a long time, there is nothing advanced about it" in regards to D4S.

I bought my wife's A5 at Sewell Subaru in Dallas...first thing I did was remove the S E W E L L chrome letters form the back of the car, I wonder if I still get the market street perk.

and I like these wheels....
