Happy Automotive April-Fool's Day
What can we say on a day like this? Well, we can start with.....................
Hoovey 2411 won't post any more autoblog reviews.
I like stiff suspensions and low-profile tires.
I also like manual hood prop-rods, temporary spare tires, and side body panels without protective mouldings.
Mike (Blueprint) bought himself an Acura franchise/dealership.
Bluestar put on a "Vote Republican" bumper-sticker.
PhilipMSPT will need a three-wheel bike.
Mitsubishi USA bought out Suzuki of America to try and keep it here.
Auto-manufacturers actually test a new model without bras and cover-tape.
You can park more than two minutes in D.C. without getting a violation-notice.
NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg has a 32-oz cup-holder in his limo.
New Shelby GTs will sell at a discount.
BMW I-Drive and Audi MMI systems become easy to use.
Limo-firms will get used to the new Caddy/Lincoln flagships.
Henry (rominl)'s post-count starts over.
You can actually believe car-dealer ads.
Subaru WRX jocks learn more road-manners.
Mustang V8 jocks learn any road-manners.
All 50 states drop front-license-plate requirements.
Lindsay Lohan kept a new car more than two weeks without wrecking it.
President Obama decided the new CAFEs were too strict, and he'll try and roll them back.
Jay Leno sold his private car-collection to Arianna Huffington.
Kim-Jong-Un ordered himself a new Hyundai Equus limo from South Korea.
Texas adopted a state-wide 55-speed limit.
Radar-Detectors became legal in Virginia.
Land-Rovers reached the top of the reliability-charts.
No more CAR CHAT threads will end up off-topic.
......and the best one of all..........
...........I set a Guiness world-record for quick-entry/exit of a Lotus Elise.
Happy April-Fool's Day, everyone

The recent acquisition of Ducati by Audi should reveal new technologies...

It seems the first fruits of the Audi acquisition of Ducati may be born in a most unusual area. Audi is rumoured to be planning to launch a three wheeled motorcycle called the Stryker Cabriolet powered by the same Ducati 1198cc Testastretta 11º power plant seen in the Multistrada and Diavel motorcycles.
The three wheeled motorcycle segment, although an anathema to most motorcyclists, has been growing rapidly as ageing boomers leave two wheels but look to find a similar kinetic experience without resorting to a car.
In the US, segment leader Can-Am sells their 3-wheeler in the tens of thousands so the new Audi, which will be sold by Ducati dealers, has the potential to be a significant sales contributor for the Bologna brand. Just as older riders migrated from Ducati Superbikes such as the 1199 Panigale to more comfortable and streetable models such as the Multistrada 1200 and Diavel, Audi / Ducati believes that some of these riders will be open to trying the Stryker. It is estimated that up to a quarter of 3-wheeler buyers have never owned a motorcycle.
As is usual for Ducati when it enters a new segment, the Styker will have little trouble seeing off its competition from a performance perspective. The testastretta 11º power plant which is in a similar spec to the Diavel boasts 160hp and 94lb-ft of torque which comfortably surpasses the 100hp and 80lb-ft of torque that the Rotax V-twin in the Can-Am can rustle up.
A whole host of electronic aids ensure the Audi Stryker Cabriolet will be both safe as well as swift including as:
--Audi’s ASR and ESC traction and stability control
--Bosch ABS
--Ducati’s riding modes which can limit power to 80 or 120hp
The Audi Stryker Cabriolet is expected to be available for under US$20,000 and the range will include an S model which will feature a road legal termignoni silencer kit amongst other as yet undisclosed upgrades.

Seriously, though........I owned two traditional Buicks before I was 20, and liked them both.
