Agreed, they are great products. A friend of mine just picked up a white on black CX-5 AWD with BSM. Awesome little ute. The addition of the 2.5L I4 is great vs the 2.0L I4.

Soon the diesel will join the SkyActiv petrol I4 of the Mazda6, but I have to wonder if a turbo 4 or V6 or an AWD option would help sales. Elsewhere in the world a sexy wagon variant is available too. Of course we don't see that on these shores

Well, Mazdas have poor in-car technology versus the competition. Also, they have given up the premium end of their vehicles' respective markets by dropping their uplevel engine choices. On one hand they court enthusiasts, yet, can't provide an engine that the enthusiasts want. Enthusiasts pay more money for the bells and whistles. I think both of these issues are related to a lack of cash to do the necessary R&D.

Personally, I love the Mazda CX9, Mazda 6, Mazda 5 Premacy, MX5 Miata Roadster as well as their RX-line of sports cars.

However, I would want this:

MAZDA 8 MPV
