Lexus GS300h revealed at Shanghai Motor Show
The Lexus GS range just got even stronger – as the covers have come off the new GS300h hybrid at the Shanghai Motor Show.
The GS300h uses a 2.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine with D-4S direct injection technology, and a compact, powerful electric motor to supply power to the rear wheels.
Lexus’s target of CO2 emissions below 110g/km will make the GS 300h one of the most efficient models in premium executive class.
The GS 300h will join Lexus’s UK model range late this year and will also be sold in global markets including China, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. It joins the GS 450h and GS 250 in the UK, and the GS 350 and 350 AWD (all-wheel drive) models, which are available elsewhere.
The new GS was introduced in spring 2012 and recorded 47,787 worldwide sales by the end of the year, almost six times the total its predecessor model achieved in 2011.

Pole Position
And the HUD is in color. Looks like these improved features will be coming soon to the entire GS line-up. Can't have the GS350 and GS450h lose out in features to the entry level GS300h.

As to the GS300h in USA, not sure... GS250 was too slow when I tried it... GS300h should be better but I have to try it to see...

The new GS300h should bode well for countries with high vehicle taxes...........or for those who want a GS Hybrid.......but can't afford a 450h
*though I find that ironic on how people talk about pricing on a premium vehicle.
This is a premium vehicle segment. Is vehicle price really that important for something that is a "luxury good" AND NOT a "basic necessity"?
Anyways:
Yeah, it's sad that there is still no news regarding a conventional V8 engine.
I posted a thread regarding this which seek for any form of insider info or rumors or whatever news regarding any signs or hope for a V8 engine for the 4th generation GS:

I mean with a chassis this good, the car is basically begging for a bigger engine......
